Buttercream Icing Recipe:
1/2 Cup Butter (1 Stick) Room Temperature
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Teaspoon Lemon Zest
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 Tablespoons Milk or any variety of juice
Cream butter in a large bowl. Mix in vanilla and lemon zest.
Slowly add powdered sugar, 1 Cup at a time.
Add in milk 1 Tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Fill pastry bag to decorate and decorate cupcakes.
When making homemade cupcakes for The Cupcake Rack, using the regular store-bought cupcake liners works best. Some name brand liners seem to be bigger than the regular store-bought liners which makes it a little difficult to set the cupcakes into the rack.

Turn the flower pot upside down and slide on the decorative band.
Flip the flower pot right side up and insert The Cupcake Rack.
Place 19 cupcakes into the rack.
Decorate with frosting and any pastry tip that you like and swirl in a circular motion.
Using store-bought cupcakes; for less mess, freeze the cupcakes for ten minutes before inserting.
Moving the finished cupcake bouquet is not recommended as a cupcake could possibly fall out of the ring when moved.
